Here I Am

My beautiful yoga teacher, Rachel, sometimes starts class with whatever mantra that is calling to her that particular day. A couple weeks ago, I feel like the mantra she shared was meant for me.

"Here I Am"
"Here I Am"
"Here I Am"

I keep her little paper in my car to remind me daily to be present.

"Here I Am"

It's also a reminder as to where I am in my healing physically. It's easy to start to get down still when I have pain or swelling or continuous painful hangnails but if I look at where I am right now, it's pretty good.

I had promised to share pics of what my ankle looks like now in one of my recent blogs. I still cringe when I look at this scarred up, swollen, pitiful ankle that doesn't look like me. It's an ugly reminder of that horrific day and all of the heartache that came with it.

Sharing a pic publicly is not easy. But I believe sharing it will help me to let go. Maybe one day I will be able to see some beauty in these scars.

So "Here I Am".
