Ways to Celebrate and Honor the Full Flower Super Moon!

Have you ever noticed how things feel way more intense than usual during a full moon? People and animals seem to act different? This is because, at a atomic level, we are all made up of energy. The moon naturally radiates a powerful frequency capable of influencing the ocean tides and since we are made up of roughly 60% water, it affects us too. The moon’s energy is a powerful force on our energy.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Full Flower Moon was named from traditional Native American culture because it is the time flowers spring forth. The almanac states, “depending on the community, May’s full Moon was also called Mother’s Moon, Milk Moon, and Corn Planting Moon. The May full Moon marked a time of increasing fertility, with temperatures warm enough for safely bearing young, a near end to late frosts, and plants in bloom”.

This moon is the final super moon of 2020 and will bring heightened passion (because well Scorpio), intense emotions, and a push/pull of inner energy to find balance. It also calls us to feed our inner peace and is here to embolden collective consciousness. It will show us life is happening for us and not to us, especially at a time when we are seeing so much destruction. Despite the current chaos and tragedy, we are seeing more unification than ever, and this moon will reflect that goodness back to us- a reminder that we can trust what the universe has planned for us.

So let’s celebrate and honor this special full moon and give gratitude to its magic! I have listed a few ideas below to get you started, but do whatever resonates with you- there is no wrong way to celebrate.

Start by setting your intention and what it is you would like to honor with this full moon. Ask for what you need and give thanks for all the magic you receive.

πŸŒ• Howl at the moon. Get in touch with your primal spirit.

πŸŒ• Hang your crystals in the moons light to reflect its healing light while also recharging your crystals.

πŸŒ• Make moon water. Place filtered water (or fresh filtered stream water if available) in a clear glass jar overnight in the moon’s light to absorb the energy of the moon in the water molecules. You can add your crystals to the water as well as long as they are ones that can be submerged in water.  Drink the water over the next few days for an extra boost.

πŸŒ• Write a letter to the moon thanking it for all its magic. Read it out loud under the moon’s light and then burn to release it once you’ve read it.

πŸŒ• Send Metta. Sit under the moon’s light and spend as much time needed to send Metta out to those in your life who you love most, and those in your life that may be very difficult for you. There is great healing in sending Metta to someone that you may find sending it to difficult. (Metta means to care and wish well for another being without judging them, to accept them independently of agreeing or disagreeing with them, and without wanting anything from them in return. It is a universal love that can overcome all social, religious, ethnic, political and economic barriers.)

πŸŒ• Dance barefoot on the ground. Feel the moons energy while grounding in earth’s energy.

πŸŒ• Take a moon light “bath”. Grab a blanket and lay down in the moon’s light. Allow the light to “wash” over you.

πŸŒ• Perform an abundance ritual. Write a check to yourself from the universe and leave it out under the full moon for the night, write a letter outlining things you want to let go of and burn under the full moon, or verbalize your blessings to the moon.

Enjoy the Full Flower Super Moon tonight!
